BIG ART SALEZ
I’m cleaning out my portfolio and I’m omega-broke. Selling everything beyond the cut for much cheaper than I usually do. Check it out and comment, email, or text me if you’re interested in anything.
DUMPSTER
Things I love Thursday: Farscape.
My favorite scifi series of all time. I’m sure that I aggravate a lot of friends by quoting it and referencing it all of the time — particularly myself, as I hate when people do that — but I just love it so damn much. I really miss the use of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, especially in this show. Scorpius, D’Argo, Pilot, and Zhaan are the best, and I have a particularly soft spot for Jool. It’s so weird that Lani Tupu (plays an antagonist, Crais) also does Pilot’s voice…
I’m going to invest in the comics that continued the series after The Peacekeeper Wars as soon as I find the cash.
Two panel.
From a short, semi-autobiographical comic that never was. It seemed too embarassingly angsty/self-indulgent. Found it in a pile of school assignments from this past semester. This was really the only page with any quality whatsoever… I think, if I intend to do any comic illustrations in the future, I should do them panel-by-panel, rather than page-by-page.
Spot the Tennessee Williams reference!
WIPz
Remember that time that I did exactly what I said I’d do? Yeah, well, it’s right now.
One more after the jump.
Come on, Hank.
Tiny acrylic paintings of Hank Venture and Brock Samson done for my significant other. I was really excited about these, initially, but now I think I should do something different for him. Brock did have a quote bubble with something like “F*#%!” written in it, but it looked busy/jumbly/crushed.
Sorry about the crummy photo quality — I should have scanned them. They’re both done in black and white, but Brock’s cigarette has a teeny, tiny fleck of red where the cherry should be. I don’t like using acrylic paint, but it’s fast, and I can lay down ink for base values beneath in order to make the process even faster.
Some watercolor pieces in progress — one commission and another to be sold — as well as another tiny acrylic. Probably some nerdy fanart, too. Scans: eventually.
A couple of equally crummy photos of a chair I painted for a group project after the jump.

CELEBRACION!
I just got off of the phone with Najjar Abdul-Musawwir and am excited to say that I will be starting an undergraduate assistantship with him in the Fall, and will hopefully have more studio space, as well!
I’m stoked! This is going to be such a fantastic experience! I can’t wait to learn more about the professional art world (I hope that doesn’t make me sound as dorky as I think it does). It’s really an honor to work for someone like Najjar — I remmeber when he did a lecture/demonstration at my junior college and have looked up to him since.
In other news, I’ve been working on some commissions and will post them as soon as they’re safely in the hands of each client.
Greetings from Austin, TX.
I’m currently on vacation and happened to find this Tara McPherson graffiti at BeerLand (in the women’s restroom). Excitement is exciting!
Updates will happen
after finals!
Sorry!
In the meantime, check out The Black Fortys:
